Although Jane never married, she never sat around all alone doing nothing. I grew up hearing about all her travels during war times with the USO. She kept busy State side as well with the Red Cross. I am so glad that I had the chance to spend some one on one time with her when I was around 13 or so. She took me out on the town shopping and dining. I was witness to her very first trip ever into a McDonalds. I wish I had more opportunities to see her and hear her stories. The things we don’t appreciate as kids sometimes do come back later in life to haunt us as an empty void in our hearts.
